1.5 oz ElVelo Blanco Tequila
3 slices of deveined & deseeded jalapeño pepper
¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
½ oz Simple Syrup
2 dashes of Bittermens Hellfire Bitters
To prep jalapenos, cut coins / wheels, then carefully cut out the white veins, and seeds – leaving just the green flesh of the pepper. Add 3 jalapeño slices to the bottom of a shaker tin, and muddle / crush. Add remaining ingredients, ice, and shake vigorously. Double strain (using a tea strainer) to keep any bits of crushed jalapeño from coming through (it will continue to extract the heat if it stays in the drink!) into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a roasted, dried serrano pepper for visuals if desired!
