Terry Bradshaw Talks Bradshaw Bourbon, COVID-19, and Virtual Happy Hours

Terry Bradshaw Bradshaw Bourbon covid-19We recently asked NFL legend and iconic entertainer Terry Bradshaw to tell us more about Bradshaw Bourbon and how he’s getting through quarantine.

One way he’s staying busy is by hosting virtual happy hours featuring his new spirit, Terry Bradshaw Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, live from his ranch in Oklahoma. Bradshaw shares bourbon tasting notes and conversation via his personal Facebook page, www.facebook.com/OfficialTerryBradshaw. He takes questions from viewers, and the event culminates with a digital toast – with fans encouraged to enjoy the bourbon, a cocktail, or a mocktail.

Introduced in January, Bradshaw Bourbon is distilled by a third-generation master distiller in the heart of Kentucky Bourbon Country. Bradshaw Bourbon is blended from the finest grains and aged in hand-selected barrels.

Bar Business Magazine (BBM): What led you to create and launch Bradshaw Bourbon?

Terry Bradshaw (TB): I’ve always enjoyed bourbon, and so when the opportunity presented itself to create my own – I jumped on it. There is something quintessentially American about bourbon. There’s just nothing better than a fireplace, two fingers of Bourbon, a great cigar, and Bocelli playing in the background. I’ve always appreciated a good bourbon, and now I’ve been enjoying my own!

BBM: What makes Bradshaw Bourbon different from other bourbons?

TB: Created at O.Z. Tyler Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky, Bradshaw Bourbon is bottled at 51.9% ABV, a tribute to my passing completion rate of the same number, which puts it at 103.8 proof. And for that reason, you all are lucky that I wasn’t at a 70% passing completion rate!

BBM: What can participants expect at the virtual happy hour?

TB: I’ve always enjoyed going “live” on Facebook to connect with my fans – whether it’s discussing my travels, football, or life around the ranch. With everything going on in the world right now, I believe there is such a need for people to connect with one another without violating social distancing recommendations. With the virtual happy hour, we can all connect together – whether with a pour of Bradshaw Bourbon, a cocktail, or a mocktail – for a toast and some fun conversation.

BBM: Given the current quarantine orders due to COVID-19, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy?Terry Bradshaw Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey virtual happy hour

TB: We have an 800-acre ranch in Thackerville, Oklahoma, so we have plenty of work to do. I’ve been working in the barn with the horses, fishing, planting our garden, cleaning out closets, organizing the house…there’s always a project on the ranch.

BBM: Do you have any words of encouragement or advice for those in the bar industry during this difficult time?

TB: It is such a difficult time right now. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this situation. As a nation, we have some solidarity knowing we all want the same things – safety, health, and happiness for our families. I know it is particularly tough for those in the hospitality and spirits industry. Please know that we will all get through this together, and once things clear up, we can all toast again to good health and good times ahead.

BBM: What’s your favorite Bradshaw Bourbon cocktail recipe?

TB: I would like to recommend “The Fourth and One Bourbon Smash.” It’s the perfect cocktail for a little R&R at home while we get through this time. I hope you enjoy!
