Dia de Los Muertos Cocktails

The Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated in Mexico October 31-November 2. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to remember and celebrate friends and family members who have died.

Toast to those who have gone before us with some of the cocktails below.

Hibiscus Tommy’s Margarita

Ingredients:dia de los muertos recipes
2 oz Santera Blanco Tequila infused with hibiscus tea for 2 minutes
¾ oz agave syrup
¾ oz lime juice

Directions:
Add all ingredients to a shaker, add ice, shake and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime.

Spicy Cinnamon Paloma

Ingredients:dia de los muertos recipes santera tequila
2 oz Santera Reposado Tequila
1 small pinch chili flakes
1 small pinch cinnamon
¾ oz agave syrup
½ oz lime juice
1 oz grapefruit juice
Finished with soda water
Cinnamon salt for rim

Directions:
Rim your Collins glass with cinnamon salt. Add the first 6 ingredients to a shaker, add ice, shake and strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice, top with soda water to fill. Garnish with a rim of cinnamon & salt.

Salsa-rita

dia de muertos cocktail recipesIngredients:
2 oz Santera Blanco Tequila
4 leaves of cilantro
4 halved cherry tomatoes
1 slice jalapeño
¾ oz lime
½ oz agave

Directions:
Muddle avocado and jalapeno, add the rest of the ingredients, add ice, shake and fine strain, using a mesh strainer, into your cocktail glass, garnish with a cherry tomato or cilantro bunch.

Cacao Manhattan

2 oz Santera Añejo Tequila
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 Dashes
chocolate bitters

Directions:
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass, add ice, stir until cold, strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist or a piece of dark chocolate.
