Woodford Reserve is proud to release a new limited- edition expression — the Woodford 
Reserve Double Double Oaked, 2019 edition. This expression is a part of an annual Distillery Series, which celebrates Master Distiller Chris Morris’ commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.
Double Double Oaked originally debuted in 2015 and is released each January.
“People love this product for its unique style and rich flavor profile and we listened to their calls to bring it back for multiple encore appearances,” Morris said.
This limited-edition Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked is the result of finishing Woodford Reserve Bourbon for two years in a second barrel that is heavily toasted and lightly charred (Double Oaked is aged for just one year in the second barrel). The extra year in the new barrel creates a bourbon that is distinctly spicier than its original counterpart (Woodford Reserve Double Oaked), which is known for its sweeter taste and finish.
Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked is presented at 90.4 proof with a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 375ml bottle. This limited-edition expression is available only at the Woodford Reserve Distillery. Each of our Distillery Series expressions are small-batch offerings ranging from finished whiskies to straight bourbons and other unique spirits.
Tasting Notes for Double Double Oaked
Color: Roasted coffee bean
Aroma: A robust medley of rich maple syrup, dark butterscotch, brittle caramel, bittersweet
chocolate burnt marshmallow and sweet hickory smoke notes dominate the nose.
Taste: Rich dried cherry and cranberry fruit swim in a blackberry jam brightened with hints of ripe apple. Chai tea and warming clove notes develop to spice up the palate.
Finish: Warm and drying with a lingering clove character.
