Champagne Bollinger has released the SPECTRE Limited Edition ($229) 2009 vintage. Additionally, The Crystal Set ($9,500) will be available in November.
In 1978, Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli, the James Bond film producer, met Christian Bizot, General Manager of Champagne Bollinger at the time, thereby uncorking an everlasting friendship between the two families. Bond and Bollinger have proven to be a logical and natural pairing right from the get go.
To celebrate the release of SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond adventure, Champagne Bollinger is launching a new, limited edition bottle, inspired by the style and sophistication of the world of Bond.
The Bollinger SPECTRE Limited Edition (SRP $229) contains a unique Bollinger cuvée, a 2009 vintage exclusively released to celebrate the partnership. The bottle is encased in a limited edition chill box, designed by Carré Basset, which keeps the bottle chilled for two hours after refrigeration.
Jerome Phillipon, President of Bollinger, stated: “Bollinger has been featured in 14 Bond films. It has been the exclusive Champagne partner since Moonraker in 1979. Our limited edition is an opportunity to discover this rare 2009 vintage expression from Bollinger, presented in an innovative gift box by the legendary elegance of agent 007.”
In addition, Bollinger has created an accessory that expresses the ultimate degree of refinement and excellence so beloved of 007. The Saint-Louis SPECTRE Crystal Ice Bucket is designed to house a Magnum.
Founded in Lorraine in 1586 and becoming the leading crystalworks in Continental Europe in 1781, Saint-Louis – which now belongs to the Hermès group – has successfully preserved its unique craftsmanship. The base of the SPECTRE Crystal Set 007 base echoes 007’s iconic gun barrel, while the top of the metallic neck label featuring the Bollinger 007 signature is set off with a cabochon marked with the sign of the octopus, the Spectre. It is a showcase for a real nectar, Bollinger R.D 1988.
The Bollinger SPECTRE Crystal Set (SRP $9,500) has only been produced in 307 numbered pieces. It weighs 30 pounds and measures two feet in height.
The history of Bollinger is the history of a family that has passionately defended its values and unique know-how since the House’s inception in the Champagne village of Aÿ in 1829. Six generations of the Bollinger family have patiently built up an impressive heritage, always devoted to the service of what has become one of the most emblematic Houses the Champagne region has ever known. Today the House of Bollinger remains resolutely independent. As it has gradually expanded throughout the world, it has become a major global brand name.
Bollinger produces great champagnes with a powerful and sophisticated style. The Bollinger style is inimitable and recognized as such by great Champagne lovers.
