St. Agrestis, the Italian-inspired spirit and cocktail producer based out of Brooklyn, New York, has entered the spirit-free space with the launch of their Phony Negroni. The single serve 200ml cocktail, available in the brand’s unique conical bottle, is the perfect alternative to a boozy beverage. Designed for people of all lifestyles, the Phony Negroni is vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and has all-natural coloring.
Created as the NA counterpart to their critically acclaimed ready-to-drink St. Agrestis Negroni, the Phony Negroni is made using the same combination of all-natural citrus, botanical, and herbal ingredients in their spiritous version, without the alcohol. In replacing alcohol in the production process, alternative extraction techniques and solvents are used to provide nuanced notes of juniper, citrus, and the classic bitterness that consumers of the traditional Italian cocktail expect. Additionally, carbonation has been added to help mimic the bite that alcohol typically provides.
St. Agrestis first conceptualized the idea for a non-alcoholic Negroni back in 2019, with a goal of bringing the flavor and sophistication of the traditional version to those looking for alternatives to alcohol.
“With the increased interest in mindful drinking via low or no-ABV spirits and cocktails, we want to offer our consumers the opportunity to continue to enjoy St. Agrestis while also abstaining from alcohol,” says Co-Owner Louis Catizone. He adds that “as spirits producers, we have incredible access to the world’s best botanicals and experience crafting quality ready-to-drink beverages, so making a Negroni sans alcohol doesn’t stray too far from the core of what we do.”
The St. Agrestis Phony Negroni is initially launching direct-to-consumer in the 48 contiguous states, priced at $59.99 for a 12-pack of 200ml bottles, available direct at www.stagrestis.com/shop, with select retailers, bars ,and restaurants nationwide to follow.
