The NextGen Wine Competition for Millenial Wine Drinkers, under the management of Vineyard & Winery Services, is accepting entries until Tuesday, July 12, with entry shipments due by Wednesday, July 27. Chaired by Giovanni “Gio” Balistreri, General Manager and Assistant Winemaker at Russian River Vineyards, NextGen will be judged exclusively by Millenials, with the Millenial end consumer in mind.

“Millenials are not only tomorrow’s consumers, they are today’s buyers,” said Balistreri.

The Wine Market Council’s 2010 Consumer Tracking Study report stated that the Millenial generation, which is made up of 70 million 21 to 35 year olds, adds 5% more new adults to the U.S. population each year compared to Generation X, offering the wine industry growth potential not seen in more than thirty years.

Vineyard & Winery Services is proud to announce 7×7 magazine as its consumer media partner in this competition; through 7×7, news of the competition winners will reach the magazine’s 42,500 precisely targeted readers.

“Vineyard and Winery Services has been running wine competitions for over 35 years,” said CEO Rob Merletti. “We are delighted to expose this high profile audience to our annual competition.”

An official entry consists of four 750 mL bottles or six 375 mL bottles plus a $65.00 per wine entry fee. For rules, necessary forms, and a list of judges, visit www.vwm-online.com/nextgen.
