National Whiskey Sour Day is August 25th. Traditionally garnished with half an orange and a maraschino cherry, a whiskey sour is a cocktail containing whiskey (often bourbon), lemon juice, and sugar. Whiskey sours are shaken then either served straight or over ice.
We’ve collected some riffs on this classic cocktail recipe, below.
And, if you don’t feel like mixing it yourself, check out Cocktail Squad‘s Canned Whiskey Sour—a handmade bourbon whiskey with a juicy finish from pressed lemon and orange juice. Gomme syrup lends a richness. The Whiskey Sour is produced under nitro so it has a creamy mouthfeel and a luscious finish. The canned cocktails are 10% ABV and gluten free.
