Winemaker Austin Hope and Chef Tim Love, two of the most influential tastemakers in the business, have come together and created a rosé that encompasses all the qualities a badass rosé should. It is light, crisp and refreshing, and best when served chilled.
Grapes from the 2015 vintage endured a cool growing season andfluctuating temperatures, resulting in balanced fruit with great acidity levels. Love and Hope Rosé is comprised of Mourvèdre, Grenache and Syrah, and was produced using the saignée method where juice from freshly crushed grapes is used to make the wine. As there is only a brief period of time the grape skins contact the juice, a light salmon color results, as well as vibrant aromas and flavors. A quarter of the juice was fermented in oak barrels, and the rest in stainless steel. Following fermentation, the wine was blended and aged in stainless steel.
This rosé offers bright fruit aromas of pomegranate, cherry, strawberry-rhubarb pie and blood orange. On the palate, the wine is a lively mixture of tart cherry, strawberry and tangy tropical fruits. The chef, known far and wide for his masterful grilling skills, and the winemaker, known for his non-traditional approach to creating Rhône-style blends, have teamed up to craft their own take on the world’s favorite summer sip.
