Wallbanger on Tour

After a summer that saw Harvey Wallbanger surprise New Orleans with the world’s first cocktail flash mob at Tales of the Cocktail, Galliano L’Autentico announced today that the world famous party animal will continue to spread the cocktail legacy on a five-city U.S. tour of disco decadence slated to kick off Friday, October 24 in Las Vegas at the city’s Life Is Beautiful festival, where Harvey Wallbanger cocktails will be served at the main downtown stage. Harvey and his entourage will be there sharing the namesake drink and the dance floor with 60K+ festival attendees.

In addition to Las Vegas stop, Harvey’s tour schedule will take him and his trademark Golden Cadillac across the Southwestern U.S. The tour will climax with a Harvey Wallbanger Day Homecoming blowout in Los Angeles, where it all began in the city’s “fern bars” of the 60s and 70s.

Harvey’s namesake cocktail of vodka, Galliano L’Autentico, and orange juice was a popular tipple in so-called “fern bars” throughout the 1960’s and ‘70s. Legend has it that the cocktail was named for a Manhattan Beach surf star who had a few too many after losing a surfing competition. His inability to leave the bar without stumbling into walls earned him a reputation and the nickname that inspired the drink. Today bartenders from coast to coast are rediscovering this simple, delicious cocktail. Appearing on cocktail menus around the country, both in its original form or with modern-day twists, the legend of Harvey continues.
