Whyte & Mackay Scotch Whickies Receive Top Tasting Scores

Whyte & Mackay scotch whiskies recently received top tasting scores from the Beverage Testing Institute.

The Dalmore 40 Year Old received the highest score awarded by the Beverage Testing Institute in their recent tasting of the scotch whisky category. Scoring a 98 out of 100, The Dalmore 40 Year Old was the highest ranked brand in the Scotch and Irish Whisk(e)y competition and The Dalmore 1974 scored a 97, second only to The Dalmore 40 Year Old.

Jorge Gutierrez, Whyte & Mackay’s Vice President of the Americas noted, “The Dalmore 40 Year Old is an exceptional scotch; it came as no surprise to us that it would score well. After scoring higher than any other brand I think consumers will take note and recognize that The Dalmore can hold its own against the competitive set.”

Overall, The Dalmore received the following scores:
The Dalmore 40 Year Old, 98
The Dalmore 1974, 97
The Dalmore 1263 King Alexander III, 94
The Dalmore Gran Reserva, 91
The Dalmore 12 Year Old, 90

In the U.S., The Dalmore is imported by Shaw-Ross International.

jura.gifIsle of Jura whiskies were all awarded 90 or higher in the Beverage Testing Institute’s whisk(e)y competition. Willie Tait, master distiller and blender said, “These scores reaffirm the taste and style of the brand is respected by the most discerning tasters in the U.S.”

Isle of Jura was the only brand that contributed to the Scotch Island Single Malt category.

Isle of Jura received the following scores:
Isle of Jura 16 Year Old, 94
Isle of Jura Superstition, 93
Isle of Jura 10 Year Old, 90

Tait added, “Since the distillery first opened their doors in the 1800’s, we’ve known we have a great product with some very unique characteristics. It’s nice to see that the judges agree with us.”
