Brad Paisley Releases Wheelhouse
On April 9, 2013, country music heavyweight Brad Paisley made a splash on TouchTunes with his ninth studio album, Wheelhouse. Though the album is being led by two singles, “Beat This Summer” and Paisley’s #1 hit “Southern Comfort Zone,” it’s Brad’s duet with LL Cool J that has been getting the most attention. The song, “Accidental Racist,” contains lyrics that portray how Paisley feels about things like wearing a cowboy hat or Confederate flag T-shirt and having people assume he was racist. Some called the song brave and provocative; others who listened to the lyrics felt it was probably the most horrible excuse for racial dialog in many years. Despite the controversy, Wheelhouse has been called a “creative rebirth” for the country star, who recorded the album from the ground up in a self-built home studio. With an impressive history of connecting with fans through his music, Paisley’s career highlights include twenty-one #1 hit singles, three ASCAP Awards, fourteen Country Music Association Awards and fourteen Academy of Country Music Awards. On the tails of the album’s release, Paisley sets off to continue his ‘Beat This Summer’ Tour, which runs through the end of summer 2013. TouchTunes Features New Eric Church Live Album
Starting April 9, 2013, TouchTunes kicked off a two-week promotion for Eric Church’s new live album, Caught In The Act: Live. A fan favorite across the network, Church was the 5th most played artist on TouchTunes in 2012, with his smash hit single “Drink In My Hand” being the 2nd most played song overall. The new release features a lineup of hits from previous albums including Sinners Like Me, Carolina and the critically-acclaimed, platinum-selling Chief, which recently took home the 2013 ACM Award for Album of the Year. Recorded at Chattanooga’s Tivoli Theater in October 2012, the track list for Caught In The Act: Live is peppered with hits including “Creepin’,” “Homeboy,” “Smoke A Little Smoke” and “Springsteen.” In June, Church will perform at the LP Field Stage as part of the 2013 CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

TouchTunes Features Jake Bugg Debut Album
Mercury Records rising star Jake Bugg made his U.S. debut last week with the release of his self-titled album.  Already a successful singer-songwriter in his home country of England, Bugg has garnered impressive comparisons to the legendary Bob Dylan. The young singer’s debut record first debuted in the UK in October 2012, where the album quickly reached number one on the UK charts and was certified Platinum. Timed with Bugg’s U.S. debut, TouchTunes promoted the album’s lead single, “Lightning Bolt,” across jukeboxes nationwide and in Canada. Also timed with the release, Bugg made appearances on Live On Letterman, The Ellen Show and at Coachella.
