The Bar & Wine Show Announces 2010 Line Up and Award Recipients

The Bar & Wine Show, taking place June 20-21 at the Javits Center in New York, New York, is “raising the bar” by showcasing chef star power, great food, premium vetted wines and spirits, and superior education sessions. Two prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to Jean-Jacques Rachou and Tony May.

Many of the world’s best and most celebrated star chefs, such as Charlie Palmer, Daniel Boulud, David Bouley, Todd English, and Rick Moonen, have all worked under the masterful Chef and teacher Jean-Jacques Rachou of the world famous and renown La Cote Basque. Charlie Palmer, David Burke, Richard Moonen, Jean Michel Bergougnoux, Craig Hopson and more will be honoring Jean-Jacques Rachou.

Tony May is one of the nation’s most accomplished and respected restaurateurs, working diligently for 4 decades to elevate the image of the Italian Cuisine in America. From owner of the Rainbow Room, Palio’s, San Domenico’s to SD26, he has garnered international acclaim for his accomplishments.

The Bar & Wine Show will also honor The Best in Wines, Spirits, Beers, Restaurants, Bars and Clubs, Bottling and many more.

Le Cognac will present The New York Cocktail Competition, sponsored by Bureau National Interprofessional du Cognac on the second day of the show at 1:00pm on the main stage. This year, international sponsors acknowledge the power of the New York and U.S. marketplaces. The National Chamber for the Tequila Industry will be representing the “Most Mexican Drink” and tequila producers from throughout Mexico.

A vetted select group of wine and spirit companies will pour, taste and sample their wonderful and unique libations. Over 250 exhibits from around the world will demonstrate their latest products and services in today’s marketplace.

The Flair Bartending Showcase and Fastest Bartender Challenge will be presented by Flairco throughout the show.

The United States Bartender’s Guild- New York Chapter (USBG-NY) will demonstrate their new, freshly made cocktails with local produce by New York’s leading mixologists throughout the show on the main floor.

Seminars are presented by renowed chefs, mixologists and industry leaders such as Anthony Dias Blue, Dale DeGroff, David Wondrich, Patrick Gionnini, Junior Merino and F. Paul Pacult. The National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Alcohol Program is being offered free of charge for the first 35 industry professionals to sign up.
