Cherry Heering® liqueur, purveyor to H.M. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, H.M. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, has been produced since 1818 and is the original Cherry Brandy. The Heering success comes from a willingness to be a fashion accessory that adds lavishness, extravagance and civilization to the mix.

”This was truly a historic and special day for the Peter F. Heering brand and family”, said, Adéle Nilsson, CEO of the Xanté & Peter F. Heering Company. ”We see Cherry Heering as an accessory; something added to compliment the greater whole, and this is our way to bring the brand into modern times in creative, powerful way.”

The historic tasting took place at the famous Campbell Apartment, where jazz age cocktails, music and atmosphere provide calm before the hustle and bustle of Grand Central Station, this Cherry Heering-esque space was formerly the luxurious office and salon of ’20’s mogul John W. Campbell.

The stunningly classic room was adorned by Lars Wallin vintage dress designs, similar to his designs for the Heering World Championship in Fashion Mixing and Drinks Designing, which supported up and coming designers. The dresses shined on three beautiful, elegant lovely women who held court with the precious vintage bottles of Cherry Heering® liqueur. Lars Wallin is one of Sweden’s foremost haute couture-designers who creates gowns for members of the Royal Family, as well as for the elite of Sweden’s celebrities.

The vcherry_heering_vintage2.jpgintage tasting bottle opening committee, who were the first to taste the classic and iconic Cherry Heering® liqueur vintages, starting with present day (2010), followed by 1950 and ultimately the superstar, 1890 bottle, was comprised of a hand selected group. The famous bottles were opened with precision by Porterhouse New York sommelier, Robert Hamilton.

The tasting panel included, Jörgen Tilander, owner of the Cherry Heering® liqueur brand along with Xanté, one of the top selling liqueurs in Scandinavia which recently has been made available in the U.S.; Jackson Cannon, famed Boston bar man from Eastern Standard where his cocktails, passion and knowledge are truly second to none in New England and beyond; Akiko Katayama, an established international writer and former Iron Chef judge and Tony Abu Ganim, The Modern Mixologist and MC/Host of the Cherry Heering® liqueur vintage event.

The prestigious tasters recorded their notes for history as a part of the opening focusing on five areas including, mouth feel, stretch on the palette, degree of sweetness, post resonance and overall balance.

The hero was Cherry Heering® liqueur vintage, 1890.

“This vintage is really well kept, providing notes of chocolate and cigar as if they really rolled everything into the whole spirit,” noted panelist Tony Abu Ganim “It’s deep, more rounded, more impactful and I was eager to see how long it can be aged and still taste refined – this is my favorite.”

The tasting panel and guests were served each vintage in Orrefors Kosta Boda glassware, the high-end ornamental glass manufacturer whose international reputation was firmly established at the Paris Exhibition of 1925.

Cherry Heering® liqueur will soon be announcing a partnership with a renowned design based charity and designer in an effort to auction of a bottle of Cherry Heering from 1890, to continue the Peter F. Heering tradition of giving back and supporting up and coming design talent.

Cherry Heering® liqueur is sold in more than 100 countries all over the world and is the essential ingredient in the world famous Singapore Sling, and Blood and Sand cocktails. Cherry Heering® liqueur has debuted new packaging, just as classic as the original but with a modern day touch of fashionable style.

In the next coming months, Coffee Heering® liqueur will make its US debut. Coffee Heering® liqueur is made from a recipe using only natural ingredients and with no additives or artificial colouring. The base is a smooth blend of Caribbean rum, coffee and cacao. Coffee Heering® liqueur can be enjoyed after dinner as a digestive but it is also excellent as a base for cocktails and long drinks.
