Tanqueray announces the return of Tanqueray Malacca, a unique extension to the celebrated range of Tanqueray gins. Only 100,000 limited edition bottles will be produced worldwide and each bottle will be individually numbered.

Tanqueray Malacca is a distilled gin made with a secret spice mix based off a recipe from the 1830’s, crafted by Charles Tanqueray. It was inspired by his travels on the Southeast Asian spice route, where he gained inspiration from the vast array of exotic ingredients available. It was sold briefly in the United States in the early 2000’s. Since production ceased, many bartenders have called for its return and the re-launch is a direct response to these requests.

In reviving Tanqueray Malacca Tom Nichol, master distiller of Tanqueray Gin, has become the custodian for the gin and the only person privy to the recipe. Tom Nichol’s announcement of the re-launch of Tanqueray Malacca Gin, here: http://bit.ly/malaccarelaunch

“The return of Tanqueray Malacca has generated real excitement among bartenders who are keen to get their hands on this unique limited edition gin,” said Tom Nichol. “We encourage them to serve Malacca responsibly.”

“Tanqueray Malacca was for many years a unicorn in the world of gin and it is deeply satisfying to see it being brought back – even for a limited time. Its unique botanical profile, softer tastes and lower proof make it a valuable addition to any decent bar. I think it makes a great Pegu and Tom Collins and I can’t wait to see what this generation of mixologists do with it,” said Tanqueray Global Brand Ambassador and “Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s” Mixologist of the Year, Angus Winchester.

Tanqueray Malacca Gin will be available for sale in the United States, Spain, Germany, UK, Benelux, the Nordics and Western Europe from February 2013. The Tanqueray brand family would like to remind everyone who sips Tanqueray, to do so responsibly. More information about responsible drinking is available on DRINKIQ.com.
