Suntory Sends Spirits into Space

According to a report by the Associated Press, the folks at the Suntory Global Innovation Center are thinking beyond global these days, announcing they have sent five different types of spirits into space to see how they age off-planet.

Arriving at the International Space Station on Aug 24, the booze will spend a year sitting around in space before being brought back down to Earth to determine if the spirits have aged or mellowed any differently than an identical set of the same five spirits set aside for the same amount of time on the third rock from the sun.

No word yet on whether or not the space spirits will be made available for purchase upon their return, but we assume the price point would be out of this world.
