Six Saints Rum Launch

Crucial Drinks will be launching Six Saints Rum – one of the first actively exported rums produced in Grenada – in the US market. Six Saints Rum is set to be released on December 1st, 2014 in NJ and FL and will hit shelves in the CT, DE, GA, IL, MD, MA, NY, NC, PA, SC, VA, WV and DC markets by early 2015.

Hand-crafted in small batches, Six Saints Rum is exclusively distilled at Grenada Distillers (formerly the Grenada Sugar Factory) – one of just two surviving distilleries on the Island. Though Grenada is known as the “Island of Spice,” Six Saints Rum is un-spiced and a truly unique Caribbean spirit.

Master distiller Rasheed Ahmad, who brings over 40 years of experience to Six Saints Rum, has developed a distinctive spirit that still honors traditional Caribbean rum. The intricate molasses fermentation and distillation process gives Six Saints a smooth, medium-bodied flavor profile typically associated with spiced rums. Six Saints is then finished in once used American white oak bourbon barrels until mature.

“Bringing one of the first rums produced in Grenada to the international market is truly exciting,” said Crucial Drinks’ founder Brian Woods, “However we also feel it’s our responsibility for Six Saints Rum to honor Grenada’s long history of producing exceptional rum and worked hard to formulate an un-spiced rum that does this tradition justice.”

TASTING NOTES: Appearance: golden amber; Aroma: notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, coconut, cherry; Palate: Light and complex with notes of spiced pears, pineapple carpaccio and butterscotch with a smooth, medium bodied finish; 41.7% ABV; MSRP $37/ 750ml
