Petty on TouchTunes

On July 29, 2014, TouchTunes will kick off a national three-week promotion in support of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ new studio album, Hypnotic Eye. Nearly 40 years after his first recording, Petty still packs a punch, says Joe Levy, Billboard’s editor at large. “It’s a more raw-sounding record than he’s ever made,” Levy says. Unlike his concisely crafted, radio-friendly early discs, “this is loud and fierce, the way he and The Heartbreakers sound live.” In addition, TouchTunes will feature a sweepstakes for a chance to win a turntable signed by Tom Petty and Hypnotic Eye on vinyl. Petty fans will be required to download the TouchTunes mobile app in order to automatically be entered into the sweepstakes.
