ONEHOPE Wine <http://www.onehopewine.com/> – the social enterprise that integrates causes and impact into every business it touches – announced today their goal to raise $100,000 towards breast cancer early detection with their “1 in 8” campaign. ONEHOPE Wine donates half of their profits generated from the sale of every bottle of their chardonnay towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit focused on education, early detection and providing free mammograms to women in need.
“Mothers. Sisters. Wives. Daughters. All women are vulnerable to breast cancer. Statistics have shown that women in the U.S. have a 1 in 8 lifetime chance of developing breast cancer; ONEHOPE’s “1 in 8” campaign was designed to support breast cancer education and early detection, and have a true impact by donating one mammogram for every eight cases of chardonnay sold,” said Melissa Levick, Executive Director of the ONEHOPE Foundation.
“Our partnership with ONEHOPE Wine helps support our mission to provide mammograms for those in need,” stated Janelle Hail, Founder and CEO of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. “Together, we are improving the journey of survival and increasing awareness towards breast cancer prevention.”
ONEHOPE’s 2010 California Chardonnay is hand-crafted with a blend of grapes from select vineyards throughout Napa, Sonoma and the Central Coast of California. Our chardonnay is blended with Muscat and Chenin Blanc displaying a pale gold color with aromas of fresh apple blossom and honeysuckle. Flavors of crisp pear and apple are vibrant on the palate, while its balanced oak and bright acidity makes this wine a great match with broiled or grilled seafood, poultry dishes and a wide assortment of cheeses.
