Two undercover officers checking Tuesday to see if [local Lincoln, Nebraska] bars were complying with liquor laws found one serving intoxicated customers.
Officer Katie Flood said police ticketed a 44-year-old bartender at Lancaster’s Lounge, 3800 Old Cheney Road, for serving an incapacitated person, and the violation would be reported to the Liquor Control Commission.
The two officers went out at 9 p.m. intending to go to four bars. But at the second — Lancaster’s Lounge — they saw two intoxicated men at the bar being served, Flood said.
While they were there, the 21- and 24-year-olds each were served two 24-ounce cans of Busch Light and two shots. Both were swaying when they walked to the bathroom. When they got back, the 21-year-old ordered another beer. Flood said the bartender asked for his keys, then served him.
Flood said police in uniform arrived to ticket the bartender and took the men to the detox center, where their blood-alcohol levels tested .177 and .199. Another bartender at Lancaster’s was cited a year ago after serving a man who later tested .431, police say.
