According to PRNewswire, the winner of the Manliest Beard Contest, held by BlackBeard Spiced Rum and No Shave November, has been chosen. Jeff Davis was awarded $1,000 and of course, beard bragging rights.
Men across the nation were encouraged to put down their razors for the month of November and post their legendary beards online at http://www.noshavenov.com and on Facebook.
BlackBeard Spiced Rum also made a donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation to support men with testicular cancer, the most common type of cancer in men ages 16 to 35. The Lance Armstrong Foundation provides practical information and tools people with cancer need to live life on their own terms.
“No Shave November is a celebration of beardiness throughout the month of November,” said Ryan Michlitsch, No Shave November co-founder. “We started it as an inter-office joke in 2008, posting pictures to Facebook to see who had the manliest beard. We’re thrilled BlackBeard Spiced Rum approached us for a partnership this year. With their help, we’ve grown the initiative, introduced a philanthropic component and will make a $2,500 donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.”
