LiV Vodka is an artisanal ultra-premium Vodka hand crafted in small batches from 100% Long Island Potatoes in the heart of Long Island’s Wine Country. Everything is done by hand at the distillery from crushing and sorting through about 100,000 pounds of potatoes a month to the careful attention the distillers take in taking very tight cuts of the hearts. This careful attention paid to handcrafting the spirit is part of the reason that less than 1% of all vodka that is made is 100% potato vodka.
“LiV Vodka started shipping in June of 2008 and in just 6 months of my partner and I landed over 400 of the finer restaurants, bars, country clubs and liquor stores on our own throughout Long Island and NYC doing direct distribution,” says Stabile. “We have shipped over 4000 cases and have developed a devoted loyal following throughout the area.”
In February 2009, Winebow picked up LiV Vodka and it is now in six states that they wholesale direct through including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. “This was exceptionally flattering for us, as Winebow only had one other vodka – Hangar One – in their portfolio,” says Stabile.
LiV Vodka was named the official vodka of the Hampton Classic, in New York, in August 2008, succeeding Grey Goose the year before. LiV Vodka also beat out Grey Goose and Chopin in a blind taste test performed by LIBN in July 2008.
