David Mair, The Balvenie Distillery Ambassador was awarded with the Icon of Whisky Award this past Friday, December 6th. The ceremony was held in Edinburgh, where Mair was honored by esteemed colleagues and friends.
Friendly, enthusiastic, and an expert in his field, Mair has been working at The Balvenie Distillery for over 26 years. Beginning his career as a summer guide at the Glenfiddich Distillery, he worked his way up to managing the visitor center before becoming the Global Ambassador for The Balvenie then returning to Dufftown in his current position.
The Balvenie Distillery has become one of Trip advisor’s highest ranking destinations with 5 star accreditation and this year was awarded the Certificate of Excellence which places it in the top 10% worldwide; accolades which are due in to no small part to Mair’s excellent work.
