Facundo’s High Honors

FACUNDO Exquisito was awarded the highly-coveted 2014 Double Gold Medal for Best Extra-Aged Rum (5 years +) and “Best Of” in its category, in the 14th Annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition, it was recently announced. Of the multiple entries, FACUNDO Exquisito was one of a select few spirits brands to receive a Double Gold Medal, signifying that every single judge in the competition awarded it top honors.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is regarded as one of the most respected spirits competitions in the world. This year, over 1,400 spirits were judged from 64 countries covering 89 classifications; 2014 brought the largest number of submissions in the history of the competition.

“It is a privilege to be acknowledged at this distinguished spirits competition by some of the industry’s most respected experts,” said Toby Whitmoyer, Vice President and Brand Managing Director, rum category at Bacardi U.S.A., Inc. “Receiving Double Gold and ‘Best Of’ honors further reinforces the FACUNDO Rum Collection’s position as the world’s premier luxury rum collection, and underscores the Bacardi family’s commitment to excellence since 1862,” he added.

In November 2013, Bacardi introduced the FACUNDO Rum Collection, a limited release of four of the most exquisite, extraordinary sipping rums, hand-selected by BACARDI Maestro de Ron, Manny Oliver.  Each of the FACUNDO collection’s marques – NEO, Eximo, Exquisito and Paraiso – is crafted to be enjoyed over time, allowing one to savor each moment and to fully discover all that each blend has to offer. Sourced from the Bacardi family’s private reserves and never before released to the public, the series is a tribute to BACARDI founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó and his relentless pursuit of producing rums of unsurpassed quality and refinement. The limited-release collection is currently available at premium on- and off-premise accounts in Miami and New York.
