Last year, guests at Florida’s six Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant locations ordered more than half a million glasses of their distinctive housemade
Sangria. On Saturday June 1st, Ceviche’s Sangria Fest is attempting to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title by constructing the World’s Largest Sangria!
Using more than 750 bottles of wine and 500 pounds of fruit along with plenty of Brandy, Triple Sec and simple syrup, an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Adjudicator will be on hand to certify the more than one ton concoction!
“Our secret Sangria recipe is a legendary guest favorite at Ceviche so setting the official title not only seemed appropriate, but a great way to kick off the summer,” says Ceviche’s CEO Joe Orsino.
With variations including red, white and sparkling, Sangria is a typical drink served throughout Spain, Portugal and Argentina and consists of primarily of wine, brandy and chopped fruit such as oranges, apples, peaches or berries.
Those attending Ceviche’s Sangria Fest are not only witness to the mixology of creating the World’s Largest Sangria, but they’re also privy to tasting the goods with all-you-candrink Sangria, as well as exclusive ‘How to Make Ceviche’ seminars. Admission to the day’s event is $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door and a portion of the day’s proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to benefit those affected by the recent disaster in Oklahoma.
