Last Tuesday, February 23, David Bowler Wines and Darcy and Huber Selections hosted a tasting featuring wines from Vienna, Austria at the Austrian Cultural Forum in NYC.

The wine tasting featured a sampling of wines from producers Weingut Martinshof, Weingut Edlmoser, Weingut Zahel, Weinbau H.P. Goebel, Weingut Christ, Weingut Cobenzel, Weingut Hajszan, Weingut Mayer am Pfarrplatz , Weingut Rotes Haus and Jutta Ambrositsch .

The youngest winemaker of the Zahel winery, Alexander Scoff, nephew of the winery’s head winemaker, Richard Zahel, and marketing manager Wolfgang Krininger were in attendance to speak with attendees about Zahel wines. Attendees included a variety of stores and restaurant owners and wine buyers as well as nontraditional media and friends of Austrian wines.

The tasting showcased Vienna’s specialty, Gemischter Satz, which literally means, “field blend,” as other producers were represented by friends and representatives of both Darcy and Huber Selections and David Bowler wines, but all were showing beautifully despite the rainy New York weather.
