Arooga’s® and Taplister Join Forces

Always ahead of the game (and the competition), Arooga’s recently joined forces with Taplister so its guests can always see what’s on tap, literally, at all of its corporate-owned and franchise locations.

Arooga’s Grille House and Sports Bar, the Harrisburg-born, full service casual dining franchise, and recent “Business of the Year” Finalist, with nine Central Pennsylvania locations  and its first franchise being built in Connecticut adjacent to Mohegan Sun, has enlisted Taplister, an app-based software system that allows beer enthusiasts to check participating bars in their area for the most current beer lists, to keep its guests enthused and informed about every beer on tap at all  Arooga’s locations.

“Taplister is an essential tool for Arooga’s which  allows for us to better manage our beer lists, track the length of time that a beer is tapped in order to guarantee freshness, and determine popular drafts in order to help us better plan our taps to meet our customers’ demands.” said Gary Huether, Jr., president and co-founder of Arooga’s. “Also, it keeps our lists accurate everywhere with the press of a button. Taplister updates our in-store beer lists, social media pages, and website simultaneously from one site. This way, all of our beer lists match each other and are never out of date which is super important to today’s beer drinker.”

Taplister, officially launched in 2009, has been described as a service developed by beer geeks for beer geeks with its mission to make it easier for venues, like Arooga’s, to promote their craft beer offerings.

“We’re excited about partnering with Arooga’s because of the strong brand and the growth potential of the relationship,” said Taplister CEO Mark Meyer. “From food, to sports to beer, they simply do everything the right way and they don’t cut corners. With the number of taps they have in each location, it’s important to get the word out as you rotate your kegs so your customers know that their favorite brewery or beer has been tapped.”

Arooga’s recently celebrated its sixth anniversary and opened its ninth Central Pennsylvania location, in Shippensburg, in September. In addition, Arooga’s broke ground in July on the first of 15 planned restaurants over the next five years  in New England, as a result of a franchise agreement with The Mohegan Tribe.

Arooga’s is perhaps best know for its selection as America’s Next Top Restaurant Franchise, beating more than 250 entrants from 36 states last year in a program co-sponsored by Sysco Foods and The Franchise Edge in a nationwide search to find an independent restaurant to become the next great franchise.
