A Taste of Cocktail Culture

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas brought a taste of cocktail culture to the seventh annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival.

For the third consecutive year, Las Vegas’ dynamic luxury resort, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, showcased its offerings during Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival, presented by FOOD & WINE Magazine April 10 through 13. In addition to exclusive offers and branded gifts distributed throughout the weekend, The Cosmopolitan served up a taste of its innovative cocktail program at the following festival events:

Happy Hour at the Fire Pits
Sweeping views of Spanish Bay provided a stunning backdrop for the acclaimed happy hour for invited-guests only hosted by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon.  The most talked-about party allowed guests including chefs Hubert Keller, Jonathan Waxman, Guy Fieri, Andrew Zimmern, David LaFevre, Brad Farmerie, Antonia Lafaso and Roy Yamaguchi, to partake in a feast including California Caviar, Joe’s Stone Crab and Morro Bay Oysters. Attendees sipped on cold Stella Artois and Roeder Champagne as well as  on a collection of one-of-a-kind cocktails like the Dorian Gray with Bacardi Pineapple fusion, Luxardo amaretto, vanilla ginger brown sugar, lemon juice, pineapple juice and caramelized pineapple puree and the Imperial Court with Tyku coconut sake, lychee puree, lemon juice, ginger lemongrass syrup and cucumber soda.

Lucky #7 at the Celebrity Chef & Winemaker Golf Tournament
The Cosmopolitan took over the world-renown 7th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links and provided golfers with a full Bloody Mary bar featuring a wide variety of garnishes from bacon-wrapped shrimp to fresh asparagus and hand-crafted cocktails, including The Daily Grind, a play on an espresso martini made with coffee, Kai Coconut Pandan Vodka, Rumchata, Patron XO Dark, Monin praline syrup and cream. Additionally, guests sipped on Bellini cocktails made with a tempting selection of fresh fruit purees while lounging on daybeds and taking in the breath-taking views of the Monterey coastline. The Cosmopolitan provided golfers with golf towels, custom-made fingerless gloves, Coola Sport liplux and Coola Sport Sunscreen. The resort also provided cocktails on the-go with a branded golf cart that could not be missed on the course.

The Four Martini Lunch
On Friday afternoon, The Cosmopolitan’s resort’s mixologist Mariena Mercer and Faith & Flower mixologist Michael Lay partnered to curate cocktails that paired with a multi-course lunch served by chefs Abby Burk of Restaurant 1833, Matt Bolton of Pacific’s Edge, Wesley Holton of Rose. Rabbit. Lie. and Ben Spungin, corporate executive pastry chef with Coastal Luxury Management. Mercer ended the meal with a dessert cocktail called Wanderlust made with Pinnacle Chocolate Whipped Vodka, Ancho Reyes Liqueur, half & half, Mole Poblano syrup, Hershey’s syrup and peanut butter.

Jenn-Air Master Class Culinary Pavilion
Throughout the weekend visitors to the pavilion, located at The Inn at Spanish Bay, experienced the resort’s award-winning cocktails like the playful twist on an Indian milkshake, the Classy Lassi with Belvedere mango passion, mango puree, passion fruit puree, coconut cream, Thai basil and ginger Thai chili syrups; the Mighty Aphrodite with raspberry puree, Hangar One Buddha’s Hand Vodka, Bols Yoghurt Liqueur, runny honey syrup and a base of pistachio; and the Age of Aquarius with Patron Blanco, Grand Poppy Liqueur, guava juice, passion fruit puree, lemon juice and ginger syrup. Complete with a Mophie charging station and relaxing lounge chairs, the space provided guests a place to rest and recharge between events.

Grand Tasting
The celebration of world-class food and beverages continued at the Lexus Grand Tasting Tent on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The Cosmopolitan offered guests the opportunity to take a photo in front of an artist’s rendition of the famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. Visitors could also pick up exclusive Kidrobot Labbit key chains.
