Constellation Brands’ beer division, the largest imported beer company in the U.S., recently presented a $75,000 contribution to The V Foundation for Cancer Research at the “Jimmy V Classic”, a basketball tournament featuring four of the nation’s top college basketball teams, held annually at Madison Square Garden in New York. This is the fifth consecutive year in which Constellation and its top selling beer brand, Corona, has served as presenting sponsor of the event.

“On behalf of our entire team at Constellation Brands, as well as our distributor and retailer partners, we’re proud to support The V Foundation’s efforts to find a cure for cancer,” said Bill Hackett, President of Constellation Brands’ beer division. “Many of our employees and business partners have been personally impacted by cancer, so our support of this program carries special significance for all of us. We’re absolutely committed to doing our part to make a positive difference in the fight against cancer.”

The Jimmy V Classic “tipped off” Constellation Brands’ support of The V Foundation for 2015.  From March 1 – April 6, the company and its distributor and retailer partners will make a $ .05 contribution to The V Foundation for every case equivalent of Corona Extra and Corona Light purchased at participating bars, restaurants and stores across the country. Last year, Constellation Brands contributed a total of $800,000 in support of cancer research. The company, with the support of its distributor and retailer partners, has contributed nearly $5 million in support of The V Foundation since 2010.

“We truly appreciate the ongoing support of Constellation Brands and its distributor and retailer partners,” said Susan Braun, Chief Executive Officer, The V Foundation. “We look forward to continuing the partnership for many years to come. Working together, we’re moving one step closer to finding a cure.”
