Brazil’s premier cachaça producer introduces two new expressions of its cachaça to the U.S. market in time for the spirit of this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Yaguara Branca (40.5% ABV) is a smooth, balanced 100% white cachaça while Yaguara Ouro (42% ABV) is a more golden expression, aged in two native Brazilian woods and American oak barrel for a deeper, more character.
With the successful launch of the flagship, Yaguara Blended, 100% blended organic cachaça in 2015, Yaguara’s team is excited to showcase the Spirit of Brazil in time for summer sipping.

Even with its long history of more than five centuries, cachaça is a contemporary spirit. The pure, intense flavors of both Branca and Ouro can also be savored on their own — neat or on the rocks.
Distilled from fresh sugar cane juice in traditional alambique copper stills, Yaguara uses a sustainable process having each batch supervised and signed off on by Yaguara’s master blender, Erwin Weimann, one of Brazil’s leading experts in the field of cachaça.

All three of Yaguara’s cachaças’ bottles are designed by leading U.K.-based glass artist Brian Clarke with an eye-catching design inspired by the ancient Roman pattern made famous by Roberto Burle Marx on Rio’s Copacabana boardwalk.
The bottle design was awarded by the WPO (World Packaging Organization) and ABRE (Brazilian Packaging Association) in 2014.
Yaguara Organic Blended:
Launched in 2014, Yaguara Blended brings centuries of craftsmanship to the most modern distilling technology. Produced in small batches under the watchful eye of renowned Brazilian master blender Erwin Weimann, Yaguara Blended is made with a century-old Meneghel family recipe (Thiago’s maternal Grandfather). Yaguara Cachaça received a double gold medal from the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, one of the most respected spirits competitions in the world. Yaguara Branca:
Bottled at 40.5% ABV, Yaguara Branca was developed by Erwin Weimann and Jean Ponce, Yaguara´s Brazilian brand consultant – keeping the families tradition of blending. Ponce is a former bartender at D.O.M. in São Paulo, noted on San Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Branca is a traditional, 100% white, unaged cachaça.

Ouro, a barrel-aged expression of blended cachaça is bottled at 42% ABV. Developed by Yaguara’s master blender, Erwin Weimann, Yaguara Ouro is an original blend of cachaça aged in two Brazilian native woods — Cabreúva and Amburana – as well as American oak.

The creation of Yaguara Cachaça is rooted in the friendship of three young entrepreneurs. Thyrso and Thiago Camargo met Hamilton Lowe during their formative years, becoming fast friends in their time together at school. Over the years, Hamilton, who lived in England, regularly visited the brothers in their native Brazil. They would occasionally visit Thyrso and Thiago’s grandfather, who spent his life perfecting his own cachaça, Cachaça do Barba. It was on one such visit to Paraná that they recognized the opportunity to bridge the family cachaça tradition with modern Brazil and Yaguara Cachaça was born.
