Drambuie is a sophisticated blend of aged Scotch whisky, herbs, spices and honey. The recipe is said to have been given to Captain MacKinnon on the Isle of Skye by Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746 after his defeat at Culloden. In the 1950s Drambuie became the basis of the Rusty Nail, the signature cocktail of the “Rat Pack”. Throughout the following decades, Drambuie remained a staple of the spirits shelf and is a strong competitor in the modern cocktail drinks market.
