VEEV Founders Among 100 Top Entrepreneurs

Goldman Sachs recognized the founders of VEEV Spirits, Carter and Courtney Reum, as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2015 at its Builders + Innovators Summit in Santa Barbara, California on October 14-16.

Goldman Sachs selected the Reum brothers among their top 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries to be honored at the two-day event. This marks the second consecutive year that the Reums have been honored.

“Last year, we were honored at the Builders + Innovators Summit, and we are thrilled to be recognized again this year,” said co-founder Courtney Reum along with brother Carter Reum. “We started VEEV with a dream of creating a spirit that was sustainably produced, versatile, and simply put, a better way to drink. After seeing the success of VEEV along with our growing line of VitaFrute Organic Cocktails, we have found that consumers crave fresh, inventive ingredients and better tasting spirits.  We look forward to continuing to innovate and breaking industry norms for many years to come.”

In 2007, the Reum brothers decided to leave their successful careers in investment banking to pursue their dream to create a category‐defining spirit that offered a Better Way To Drink™. What began as a two-man start up quickly grew into one of the fastest growing independent spirit brands in the country. VEEV went on to be honored as an Inc 500 Fastest Growing Private Company in America, named one of Beverage Information’s Rising Stars, and was the recipient of the Technomic Fast 50 Award. In 2012, the brand launched its newest line – VitaFrute™ Cocktails by VEEV, the first line of organic ready-to-drink cocktails, which quickly earned the title of the fastest growing ready-to-drink cocktail on the market.

“We are honored to recognize Courtney Reum and Carter Reum as one of the most intriguing entrepreneurs of 2015,” said David Solomon, Co-Head of Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs. “This is an exciting time for entrepreneurs. This is the fourth year that we’ve hosted the Builders + Innovators Summit and continue to be amazed by what happens when a diverse group of seasoned and emerging business leaders — the builders and innovators – come together to discuss how to drive innovation, create jobs, and build enduring organizations.”

For more than 145 years, Goldman Sachs has been advising and financing entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their businesses. In addition to honoring 100 entrepreneurs, the summit consists of general sessions and clinics led by Goldman Sachs experts, seasoned entrepreneurs, academics and business leaders as well as resident scholars.
