Sick Puppies Release Connect
On July 16th 2013, TouchTunes will promote the Sick Puppies’ third studio album, Connect. Formed in Australia in 1999, the hard rock trio is comprised of vocalist/guitarist Shimon Moore, bassist Emma Anzai and drummer Mark Goodwin. Inspired by bands like Green Day and Rage Against the Machine, Sick Puppies first exploded onto the music scene in 2006 with the release of their hit single “All The Same.” The song received over 75 million views on YouTube and led to TV appearances on Oprah, Good Morning America and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Since then, Sick Puppies have taken the stage with bands like Muse, The Killers, Tool and Papa Roach. Their most recent album, 2009’s Tri-Polar, debuted at #31 on the Billboard 200 chart and the album’s lead single, “You’re Going Down” reached #1 on Billboard’s Rock Singles chart. Connect is the anticipated follow-up to the Sick Puppies’ seven-track 2011 acoustic EP, Polar Opposite. Recorded by Rock Mafia production team Tim James and Antonina Armato, lead singer Moore says that on Connect, the Sick Puppies have made “an album that will stand the test of time.”
TouchTunes Features Sara Bareilles’ The Blessed Unrest
July 16th marks the release of superstar singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles’ fourth studio album, The Blessed Unrest, on TouchTunes. The album’s lead single, “Brave,” was co-written by Bareilles and Jack Antonoff from the band Fun. A California native, Bareilles skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Pop 100 chart in 2007 with the smash hit single, “Love Song,” off her Platinum-certified major label debut, Little Voice. The single received two Grammy nominations and locked Bareilles in as a bona fide pop-rock star. Her sophomore album, 2010’s Kaleidoscope Heart, debuted at #1 and spawned the hit singles “King of Anything” and “Uncharted.” On the tails of Kalaidoscope Heart, Bareilles embarked on an international tour with Maroon 5 and soon after was named a Celebrity Judge on the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off.
