Tullamore D.E.W. Debuts Trilogy 15 Yr Old

Tullamore D.E.W., the second largest Irish whiskey in the world, is proud to announce the release of its latest variant, Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy, set to arrive in the U.S. market in February 2016. Inspired by the power of three that defines Tullamore D.E.W. – a blend of three whiskeys that is three times distilled – Trilogy is matured in three cask types of three unique woods, including rum casks, a first for Tullamore D.E.W.

Aged for 15 years, Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy is matured first in bourbon barrels, followed by Oloroso Sherry butts and then finished in rum casks. These seasoned casks impart a tropical fruit nose and rich creamy fudge flavor to the spirit. Trilogy employs the Tullamore D.E.W. signature blending of all three types of Irish whiskey, which unearths layers of rich character and a uniquely complex yet smooth taste. “Only the name Trilogy befits this truly exceptional triple distilled, triple blend of potstill, malt and grain whiskeys finely perfected in triple wood,” notes Malt Master Brian Kinsman.

The release of Trilogy, Tullamore D.E.W.’s oldest release to date, is part of a wider range expansion for the brand that will roll out over the next few years. This long-term growth plan is supported by Tullamore D.E.W.’s new distillery, which opened in September 2014 and marked the return of whiskey production to the town of Tullamore 60 years after the original distillery closed its doors. A $50 million investment for the company, the distillery spans over 65,000 square feet and has the capacity to hold 50,000 casks.

Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy is a permanent addition to Tullamore D.E.W.’s range with 900 9-liter cases now available in the US (RRP $79.99 / 750ml).
