The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) today announced that this year’s Gala will feature an extraordinary auction stocked with many once-in-a-lifetime experiences, vacation packages, luxurious gifts and much more. The annual MMRF Fall Gala, which will be held on November 9, 2013, in Greenwich, Connecticut, will honor Berry Gordy, Founder of Motown, with the Spirit of Hope Award and Charles Goldstuck, President and Chief Executive Officer of TouchTunes Interactive Networks, with the MMRF Courage & Commitment Award. Funds raised at the MMRF Fall Gala will be used to support the development of life-extending treatments for multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer.

Multiple myeloma is an incurable blood cancer. The five-year relative survival rate for multiple myeloma is approximately 41 percent, one of the lowest of all cancers. In 2013, more than 20,000 adults in the United States will be diagnosed with multiple myeloma and nearly 11,000 people are predicted to die from the disease.
