Three New Whiskeys Arrive

BOWMORE DEVIL’S CASKS 10 YEARS OLD

The legend on Islay is that the devil once visited the Round Church in the village of Bowmore, built with no corners so the devil had no place to  hide. The local congregation spotted the devil in the church and chased him down through the village and into Bowmore Distillery’s famed No. 1 Vaults. Here, as the warehousemen were filling casks and loading them aboard a paddle steamer, the devil was lost. It is believed that he escaped into a cask of Bowmore bound for the mainland. This story was the inspiration for Devil’s Casks which is matured exclusively – and uniquely – in the finest first fill sherry casks which help bring out Bowmore’s intense qualities. Bowmore® <http://www.bowmore.com> , the first Islay Single Malt whisky, introduces THE DEVIL’S CASKS Small Batch Release, a spellbinding potion that is non chill-filtered and offered at cask strength (56.9% ABV) with a suggested retail price of $89.99. With just 1,302 bottles allocated for the US, this devil will sell out quickly.

AUCHENTOSHAN VIRGIN OAK

Auchentoshan <http://www.auchentoshan.com/> ® Single Malt Lowland Scotch Whisky, the only single malt in Scotland to triple distill <http://auchentoshan.com/triple-distillation-(our-way)/triple-distillation.aspx> every single drop, introduces Auchentoshan Virgin Oak Limited Release. This complex, non-chill filtered expression is Auchentoshan’s first ever whisky to be exclusively matured in virgin North American oak casks, wood which has previously been untouched by any other spirit. This aging technique is quite unusual in Scotland, where the majority of the whisky is matured in ex-bourbon or ex-sherry casks. Approximately 2,100 bottles of Auchentoshan Virgin Oak (46% ABV) will arrive in the US and will retail for a suggested $129.99.
