According to PRNewswire, The Wine Group LLC, a privately owned wine company based in San Francisco, has been named the exclusive distributor for the premium, ready-to-drink margarita, Coyote Gold All Natural Margarita. Developed by Randy Zwetzig and Maureen “Mo” Schaffer of Fort Collins, Colorado, the margarita recipe uses 100% Blue Agave Reposado Tequila, pure fruit juice and proprietary handcrafted orange liqueur. The agreement allows for national distribution of Coyote Gold and provides The Wine Group, producer of brand such as Franzia and Corbett Canyon, with an all-natural, ready-to-drink margarita that will complement its developing spirits portfolio.

“The margarita is the nation’s most popular cocktail, and we believe it is very important to have a high-quality, premium margarita as part of our spirits offering,” said Ken Lizar, President, TWG Velocity Brands. “We selected the Coyote Gold All Natural Margarita based upon its great taste, authentic ingredients, proven market success, and the passion of its developers. Mo and Randy’s commitment to producing a great-tasting, reasonably priced margarita with authentic ingredients is unequalled in the industry.”

An enthusiastic fan base has emerged, inspiring several testimonials from consumers. “We are thrilled so many consumers have embraced Coyote Gold,” said Randy Zwetzig, head of marketing and sales for Rest & Relaxation LLC, the Colorado-based small business which provides and markets Coyote Gold. “Customers email photos, stories, and recipes they’ve created with Coyote Gold. Many people contact us to tell us how much they enjoy Coyote Gold Margaritas—including margarita aficionados who are very proud of their own homemade recipes. They typically thank us for making a great tasting margarita that is convenient and available at a moment’s notice. They can tell by the taste that Coyote Gold is made from authentic ingredients and not artificially concocted.”

Retailers have also been welcoming the premium margarita into their establishments. “I was excited to see the enormous following this product has,” stated Todd Wiggs, Manager of Beer, Wine & Spirits at Jungle Jim’s International Market, a large retailer near Cincinnati, Ohio. “The product is outstanding! We sold 30 cases in the first four hours of introducing it. Customers couldn’t get enough!”

The Wine Group has expanded distribution of Coyote Gold to an initial 15 states: Colorado, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming. More states will be added throughout 2011 and next year.
