The Micro Spirits Odyssey

Producing less than 20,000 cases of product annually, micro-distillation has redefined the spirits industry. As part of the 2010 Manhattan Cocktail Classic, join Hush Cocktails and BIJOU Group on an all-day exploration of boutique brands, creative cocktails, and gourmet culinary pairings at Butter Restaurant. Not only are they hosting the event, but Hush Cocktails will also be creating all of the innovative cocktails especially for the occasion.

The capable team from Hush Cocktails will welcome guests to a wealth of exciting activities with the support of Eryn Reece of Mayahuel, Yael Vengroff of Pegu Club, Frankie Marshall of Clover Club, Charles Hardwick of Pranna and Abigail Gullo of Fort Defiance. From a tasting room filled with craft brands, micro distillers, and delicious food to four fabulous seminars focusing on different aspects of the growing artisan distillery movement, attendees will truly experience the world of micro spirits. Seminars will be hosted by brand CEOs and industry experts including Junior Johnson, Brian Van Flandern, Jennifer Simonetti-Bryan, and Allen Katz covering topics from brand development to the history of micro-distilleries.

Nothing pairs better with a delicate boutique concoction than the epicurean delights created by Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, Executive Chef, Butter restaurant. Taking time off from her Michelen-starred restaurants and award-winning television career, Chef Guarnaschelli will be preparing all of the food pairings for the journey. While the official bitters of the day are A. B. Smeby Bittering Company, guests will enjoy dozens of boutique brands including Square One vodka, Catdaddy Moonshine, Landy Villa Limoncello, Bootlegger 21 Vodka and Redemption Rye and be introduced to many distilleries from the newly formed NYCDG including Warwick Valley Winery, Tuthilltown, Fingerlakes, Long Island Distillery and Harvest Spirits. A. B. Smeby Bittering Company produces Bitters using local ingredients inspired by what is fresh and available at any given time of year without the addition of synthetic coloring, sweetening adjuncts, or additives. To best maintain the integrity of the day’s libations, all cocktails will be served in glassware all provide by Emile Henry USA.

Please note, all guests must be of legal drinking age. Admission includes entrance to all Micro Spirits Odyssey (MSO) seminars (seating based on a first come, first serve basis), complimentary admission the MSO tasting room as well as the Official Bar of the Manhattan Cocktail Classic (plus one drink ticket).
