International Beer Tasting Event July 25 To Raise Funds for Orange County Museum

Some of the biggest names in international brewing will gather on the picturesque grounds of the Neversink Valley Area Museum in Cuddebackville, NY on July 25, 2009 for the first annual beer tasting and fundraising event at the museum. The beer festival will feature more than 25 international breweries from across the globe presenting more than 50 of their finest brews for sampling. A pay-one-price ticket allows adults 21+ to enjoy a fun day of beer sampling, beer education, and live entertainment.
The event will help raise funds for the Neversink Valley Area Museum. This international beer tasting event will showcase breweries from across the globe, each providing samples of their country’s proudest brewing achievement. Shoulder to shoulder with some of America’s best breweries will be amazing beer from Japan, Germany, Belgium, Italy, China, and others.
As the U.S. beer industry continues to battle for highly coveted market share with the wines and spirits category, the range of styles and flavors offered by the imports are attracting new fans and enthusiasts.
“We want to help introduce festival attendees to some great imports, beers they may never have tried before,” said event producer Andy Calimano of Starfish Junction. “Most beer enthusiasts are educated about beer and have sophisticated tastes. I think the enthusiasts in this region of New York are ready to do some global exploring.”
“The Great Beer Expo allows the Museum to gain publicity to a broad audience. The Museum, like other small history museums, is always trying to raise money so that it can continue to fulfill its mission,” said Stephen Skye, President of the Board Of Trustees for the Neversink Valley Area Museum. “The Great Beer Expo will be a significant contributor to the museum’s 2009 income,” he added.
