Spirits Blog

For those in search of “craft spirits enlightenment,” Anchor Distilling Company is pleased to announce the launch of its new blog, Anchor Distilled: Inspired Stories & Cultural Artifacts from the Anchor World of Spirits. Developed by Anchor’s Director of Education and former Editor-in-Chief of Mutineer Magazine, Alan Kropf, Anchor Distilled will feature educational content surrounding Anchor Distilling’s nearly 400 spirits.

“I’m really excited to bring the Anchor Distilling portfolio to life in new ways through videos and stories,” says Kropf. “We have such diversity amongst our suppliers, and many of their stories are being told for the first time in the United States.”

The Anchor Distilled blog will take visitors directly to the producers of the many craft spirits in the Anchor portfolio – many of which are multi-generation, family-owned brands – sharing their stories through on-camera interviews with the distillers, scenic footage of the distilleries, documentary-style segments around the various beverage categories and how the Anchor brands fit into the picture, how-to guides and cocktail recipes, and much more.

To kick things off, Anchor Distilled talks sherry barrels with Alan McChonnochie, distillery manager at The GlenDronach, and gets up close and personal with Billy Walker, who breathed new life back into The GlenDronach and BenRiach distilleries when he bought them in 2008. Visitors can also take a virtual tour of the Swedish potato farms where Karlsson’s Gold Vodka gets its start.
