With Veterans Day right around the corner, why not show our retired soldiers a little extra support? Minnesota born, UV Vodka, has created “Salute to the New Heroes,” a new program that supports veterans across the U.S. by helping them find employment once they return home from service. Last year, more than 573,000 veterans were unemployed and roughly 53% of post 9/11 Veterans dealt with a period of unemployment in their first 15 months out of uniform.
The program encourages consumers to recognize and celebrate the veterans they know – whether they’re friends, family or colleagues who have served for their country— with a salute. Donations will be secured through in-store purchases of UV 80, and via the sharing of the dedicated #SalutetoHeroes hashtag on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Funds raised will benefit Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide program from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation which assists U.S. veterans and military spouses find employment.
Through a dedicated microsite, www.UVSalutetoHeroes.com, consumers can learn more about the program and how they can share their own salute with the #SalutetoHeroes hashtag as a way to drive donations.
Since launching the campaign in September, the Salute to the New Heroes program has been a great success, receiving over 650 salutes to-date from consumers, current service members, spouses and more showing their support!
