Powell & Mahoney Mixers Win at Spirits Competition

Powell & Mahoney, Ltd. has been garnering much recognition for its handcrafted cocktail mixers, winning big at the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition. Their Sriracha Bloody Mary won a gold medal as well as “Best of Show” and “Best of Division.” The Chipotle Bloody Mary and the Peach Bellini won gold medals, and the Jalapeno Margarita and original Bloody Mary received silver medals.

“We are thrilled about winning this prestigious recognition on our way to changing the perception of cocktail mixers” said co-founder and beverage industry veteran Brian Powell. “We’re excited to make cocktail mixers natural again, offering the customer only the highest quality hand-selected ingredients that are mixed in small, handcrafted batches with small kettles in Williston, Vermont.”

Powell & Mahoney began in 2010 as a quest to produce affordable quality cocktail mixers for a lacking market. Brian teamed up with beverage industry veteran Mark Mahoney to capture the clean and classic tastes of some of America’s best-loved classic cocktails by incorporating only the finest juices, essential oils and pure cane sugar. Both bringing strong backgrounds, Mark founded Maui Beverages as well as holds equity interest in several food and beverage companies, and Brian formerly worked as a sales executive for Stirrings Cocktails.

In addition to the award-winning Jalapeno Margarita, Peach Bellini and Bloody Mary variety of mixers, the Powell & Mahoney line also offers Blood Orange, Cosmopolitan, Old Ballycastle Ginger, Hot Toddy, Lemon Sour Mix, Low Cal Margarita, Mango Passion Fruit Margarita, Margarita, Mojito and Pomegranate. Each mixer comes with three of master mixologist Tad Carducci’s recipes on the bottle that make entertaining at home easy and fun.

Powell & Mahoney will bring their award-winning Bloody Mary cocktail mixers to this year’s Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE, serving as sponsors for the Chopped Best Bloody Mary Brunch perfected by ABSOLUT on Saturday, October 18th from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the Down-Home Country Brunch hosted by Trisha Yearwood on Sunday, October 19th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds from the Festival benefit the hunger-relief organizations Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign and Food Bank For New York City.
