Paris, France – July 1, 2013 – Paris Wine Company, the first online French wine merchant to specialize in worldwide shipping of artisanal wines, today announced the launch of its online store www.pariswinecompany.com <
http://www.pariswinecompany.com> .  The retail platform is the leading source for buying and collecting French wines from a diverse portfolio of exceptional, small producers.

Paris Wine Company curates a selection of wines available for order and sends a weekly newsletter to subscribing members with detailed information about the producer and their featured wines.  Through a network of shipping experts, the site offers customers a reliable way to order hard-to-find French wines directly from France.  Founder and buyer, Joshua Adler, personally manages the collection and is credited with building the wine programs at Daniel Roses’s Spring Restaurant in Paris, France and at Bi-Rite Market in San Francisco.

With a mission of introducing buyers to new producers and small-batch releases, customers are easily able to mix and match the wines when they order from Adler’s highly curated selection. Paris Wine Company ensures that wines arrive in the same condition as when they left the winery, shipped in temperature-controlled ocean containers.

The site also features a series of immersive three minute videos that follow Adler’s travels visiting acclaimed winemakers such as Jean Thevenet at Domaine de la Bongran, Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron at Domaine Vacheron, and Catherine Breton of Domaine Catherine and Pierre Breton. Customers can shop online by region, varietal, vintage, style and price; membership is free.

“Paris Wine Company is pleased to announce that we are the first online French wine merchant to offer worldwide shipping of French wines,” said Josh Adler, Founder and Buyer, Paris Wine Company.  “Until now, shipping wine from France to the United States has been complicated to the point of being nearly impossible.  Our goal is to introduce our customers to new producers, as well as historic vignerons and wine growing regions in France that have a fascinating heritage. French wines continue to serve as the archetype to which modern wines worldwide are evaluated against and we look forward to sharing our selections with wine enthusiasts worldwide.”

The first live offer features wines from “The Angevin Clan”, a group of young producers in the Loire Valley who, thanks to Paris Wine Company, are now available in the United States for the first time.  Highlights include the Chenin Blanc “L’Echalier” from former oyster-farmer Nicolas Bertin, Gamay “P’tit Luchini” from Japanese-Canadian ex-journalist Kenji Hodgson, and summertime rosé Lulu’berlue from prodigy winemaker Cedric Garreau.

Extremely small but highly sought-after lots are offered exclusively online.  Highlights include rare white Burgundy from Vincent Dancer in Chassagne-Montrachet, Verticals of Drappier Carte d’Or Champagne going back to 1959, and incredible reds from Elian Daros, the first artisan winemaker in the Côte du Marmandais.

Partner producers include the Northern-Rhone benchmark, Domaine Gonon; Loire-Valley natural-wine superstar,  Alexandre Bain; Chablis from Thomas Pico at Domaine des Pattes Loups, and rare bottlings from Champagne Jacques Lassaigne and more to be announced this summer.
