Opening August 3, 2013 at 316 11th Street in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood above the recently announced Bergerac, Audio Discotech is the latest creation from David Brinkley of Vessel Nightclub, Anderson Pugash of Crossroads Nightlife Group, and Bruce McDonald of Foreign Cinema and Laszlo. As the name implies, Audio will feature a leading auditory experience, attracting dance enthusiasts from around the Bay Area and indulging them in the latest sensory innovations.

“Having been a part of the San Francisco nightlife scene for seven years and traveled extensively throughout Europe, nightclubs have always been a passion,” says Owner David Brinkley. “With Audio, I’m incorporating my favorite elements of large clubs from around the world into an intimate space that is distinctly San Franciscan.”

Audio Discotech, occupying a 3,500-sq.-foot space designed by Josh Rowland, will have a timelessly stylish design reminiscent of a classic 1970’s Cadillac, with gold and mirror accents, tufted wall panels and splashes of cream, burgundy, and burnt orange. A commanding DJ booth in front of an eight-foot infinity mirror will preside over a sunken, spring-loaded dance floor in the center of the room. Plush, tufted theatre-style banquettes line most walls, and two bars anchor opposite corners of the dance floor. With varying sightlines throughout the space, Audio’s layout provides an inclusive and approachable feel with no velvet ropes, checkpoints, or separate rooms.

A talented roster of DJ’s will keep the energy building throughout the evening with a mix of music varying from deep house, commercial house, and open format. A  Funktion-One sound system is installed and tuned by Sound Investment, responsible for award-winning systems at Marquee in Las Vegas, Mansion in Miami, and Cielo in New York City. To ensure optimal sound quality, 1,200-sq.-feet of acoustical paneling has been installed, offering an exceptionally rich, clear sound throughout the room.

State-of-the-art 3D projection and LED lighting from Lumatech allow Audio to transform itself from one night to the next. “For Audio, we wanted to do something that’s never been done before,” says Lumatech Owner Michael Oku. “To illuminate the interior, we designed a 45-foot-long tufted wall embedded with over 1,000 LED lights –an industry first.” Both the lighting and visuals are fed by the same video signal, creating a highly cohesive and seamless effect.

Building on Audio’s excellence in sound and lighting, Owners Brinkley, Pugash, and McDonald have hired top talent to ensure the best in personalized service. Troy Morgan, most recently general manager for TAO and LAVO Nightclub in Las Vegas, will oversee all operations. Yael Vengroff, winner of the 2012 Miss Speed Rack competition and arguably the best female bartender in the country, will run the bars at Audio under the direction of Bar Director Russell Davis, co-star of Spike TV’s “Bar Rescue.”

Located at 316 11th Street at Folsom Street above Bergerac, Audio will be open Thursday through Saturday night from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. For more information or to book a private event, please visit http://audiosf.com/ <http://audiosf.com/> or www.facebook.com/audiosf <http://www.facebook.com/audiosf> .
