Congratulations to the good people of North Dakota—apparently you don’t have to go very far to find yourself a drink at the nearest watering hole. Despite bar names like the Long Haul Saloon, in Grand Forks, it’s really not much of a long haul for you after all.

According to date collected from the US Census Bureau, the plain state of North Dakota tops the list for most bars per capita of any state in the country, with an impressive one bar for every 1,621 citizens.

By comparison, even with its vast array of nightlife options in and around the five boroughs of New York City, the state of New York was only 19th on the list.

We could learn a lot from our friends in North Dakota.
