According to PRNewswire, Open Air Publishing has announced the launch of its first iPad book, Speakeasy Cocktails: Learn from the Modern Mixologists. This is the first in a line of high-quality, interactive how-to books from Open Air Publishing.

Featuring video tutorials, instructional graphics, and hundreds of interactive recipes, Speakeasy Cocktails gives aspiring mixologists direct access to two of the country’s master bartenders, Jim Meehan and Joseph Schwartz, founders of New York City’s famed speakeasy revival bars, PDT and Little Branch.

“Everyone has skills they want to learn, but the existing solutions are all lacking in one way or another,” said Jon Feldman, founder and CEO of Open Air Publishing. “We took all the best parts of books, online video, and live classes, and built a complete experience for the tablet that is truly a better way to learn.”

Features of the book include:

• More than 90 minutes of HD-video tutorials featuring Jim Meehan (founder, PDT, New York City) and Joseph Schwartz (founder, Little Branch and Silver Lining, New York City)

• Authored by Rob Willey, seasoned Mixology journalist who writes for Details and has contributed to Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, and The New York Times

• Unique collection of 201 recipes from 58 leading mixologists in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. All cocktail recipes are fully interactive; readers can tap on any ingredient or technique to learn more.

• History of the speakeasy, the secret bars that flourished during Prohibition in America

• Interactive map with 44 of today’s secret speakeasy-revival cocktail bars across the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia

• Easy-to-follow navigation, allowing readers to jump from recipes to videos to details of more than 100 spirits and mixers

• Use sticky-notes, highlights, bookmarks and search to easily find recipes, ingredients, techniques and tools and share them with your friends using Facebook Connect

• Gorgeous photography of classic cocktails, tools, spirits and ingredients

• Buying Guide: with shakers, strainers, spoons, and stemware, discover what the pros use and where they shop

• Quick-reference glossary with 190 key terms and definitions
