On The Border Begins Cinco de Mayo count down with an Angry Meltdown.

On The Border just can’t wait for Cinco de Mayo, so it’s having an Angry Meltdown.

With Countdown to Cinco, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is having a pre-esta by previewing Cinco de Mayo-inspired cocktails each Thursday leading up to the official fiesta.

This includes the Angry Meltdown, featuring Angry Orchard® Hard Cider blended with sweet & sour, topped with a shot of Fireball® Cinnamon Whisky on the rocks, which OTB will showcase today (April 24). On May 1, OTB will celebrate its final Thursday Countdown to Cinco by introducing the Fruit CoronaRita™, a frozen fruit margarita infused with an ice cold Coronita, available in Mango, Strawberry or Wildberry flavors.

“We think about Cinco de Mayo every day of the year at OTB,” said Steve Clark, On The Border’s CEO. “So we decided to invite our guests to start the celebration early and preview special Cinco drinks each Thursday as we await our favorite holiday.”

Here’s a recipe you can try out on-premise this weekend in your own bar:

CoronaRita

6 parts Corona Light

1 part Tequila

2 parts Margarita Mix

1 part Triple Sec

1 Lime Wedge

Method: In a cocktail shaker, pour the first three ingredients (please do not pour beer in the shaker). Shake vigorously until ice cold. Strain into tall glass with 1/3 ice. Top with Corona Light beer.
