Malibu®, the original Caribbean rum with coconut liqueur, today announces plans to extend its line-up of pre-mixed cocktails to include a new lower calorie option, Caribbean Cosmo Light. A blend of Malibu Coconut, Lime, Orange and Cranberry, Malibu® Caribbean Cosmo Light (12.5%alc/vol) offers a tasty, tropical twist on the traditional cosmopolitan. Simply offering 100 calories per 4 ounce serving, this calorie conscious alternative is the perfect way to save calories without sacrificing flavor.

Available at retail in July, 2012, Malibu Caribbean Cosmo Light will be the first of the Malibu Cocktails to come packaged in the new and improved version of its innovative 1.75L pouch. This environmentally friendly, soft plastic pouch is quick chilling and keeps the product fresh after opening; additionally, the leak-proof dispenser nozzle makes serving up the perfect cocktail quick and easy for on-the-go occasions. The pouch will also have a ‘100 calories per serving’ call-out on the right corner of the pouch, and the word ‘Light’ is easily noticeable on the left corner of the pouch in order to quickly differentiate this pouch from other Malibu pre-mixed cocktails.
Malibu Caribbean Cosmo Light will replace the current Caribbean Cosmo offering, but the other refreshing flavors of Malibu cocktails will continue to be sold. Together, this family of cocktails creates an impressive array of drink favorites including Tropical Sea Breeze, Tropical Mojito, Rum Punch and, most recently added to the portfolio, Melon Margarita. These pre-mixed cocktails continue to gain popularity after first being introduced in June of 2010.
To support the launch of Caribbean Cosmo Light, Malibu will offer custom designed POS materials to support the off-premise introduction, including display racks, cooler pusher trays, window clings, case cards and shelf talkers.
The Malibu Caribbean Cosmo Light will have a suggested retail price of $19.99/1.75L.
