New State-of-the-Art Nightclub Turned On By Cirque du Soleil Announces First Month Lineup And A New Surprise Opening

LIGHT, the state-of-the-art nightclub by Cirque du Soleil and The Light Group, announces a superstar lineup for its debut month at Mandalay Bay and a surprise early sneak peek event. Along with kicking off Grand Opening Weekend with Nicky Romero on Friday, April 26th and Axwell on Saturday, April 27th, LIGHT is exclusively announcing that on Wednesday, April 24th, Zedd will be touching down to turn on the sound system, lights and visuals for the very first time.

Zedd will take the stage along with a surprise guest to launch LIGHT with a legendary performance. The Interscope-signed artist whose album Clarity went Top Ten on iTunes in its first week of release will be the first to grace the decks at LIGHT. The internationally celebrated DJ is a pioneer in the industry, and was even the first EDM artist to perform on Letterman. Zedd recently played the Ultra Music Festival in Miami and then invaded the stage again in pink pants as the audience roared in applause. Tickets for this sneak preview show will go on sale Tuesday, April 9th, at 10am PST, and as always, #TixTuesday will be delivering special ticket extras only available to LIGHT’s Twitter followers.

After much anticipation, LIGHT has also revealed their first month of incredible performances leading up to Memorial Day Weekend. From Alesso to Baauer, Thomas Gold to Krewella, and the return of Nicky Romero, the finest talent will perform at LIGHT this May as guests experience the cutting-edge creativity and incredible music that make LIGHT a new kind of nightlife experience. Wednesday, April 24th — Resident DJ Zedd and a surprise guest take the stage at LIGHT’s special preview night. Drawing from his background in classical music composition, Zedd has created chart-topping singles like “Clarity” and “Spectrum,” as well as remixes of hits like Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” Hailed as a musical prodigy, Zedd’s music mirrors the LIGHT experience—complex, unique and cutting-edge.

Friday, April 26th— Celebrities will be in attendance as LIGHT kicks off the weekend with a star-studded Grand Opening party. LIGHT resident DJ Nicky Romero will take over the turntables with Clockwork and Andy Caldwell. Fresh off his 2012 residency in the legendary clubs of Ibiza, Nicky Romero has become an international phenomenon, with his single “I Could Be The One” landing the number one spot on the UK Dance Charts.

Saturday, April 27th – The festivities continue as Axwell embarks on his inaugural Las Vegas residency. Axwell is regarded as a top talent in the music world, having been nominated for four GRAMMY Awards, for both his original compositions as well as remixes with other artists. At LIGHT, he will showcase the musical style that has made him a global electronic music sensation with hits including “Nothing But Love,” “Heart is King,” remixes like the Grammy-nominated “In My Mind” and “Hometown Glory,” and his #3 Billboard Top 100 smash with Swedish House Mafia, “Don’t You Worry Child.” Hook N Sling will join Axwell to finish off LIGHT’s Grand Opening Weekend with an unforgettable performance.

Week 2

Friday, May 3rd —Thomas Gold takes a break from his globetrotting performances to begin his residency at LIGHT. Since his explosive entry into the electronic music scene, Thomas Gold has produced an eclectic mix of mash-ups, remixes and singles including “Sing2Me” and “Alive.” Along with Steve Powers, Thomas Gold is sure to kick off LIGHT’s second weekend with one of his signature high-energy sets.

Saturday, May 4th—Alesso ends LIGHT’s second weekend with a bang as he takes the stage alongside Hook N Sling. One of the fastest rising stars in the electronic music scene, Alesso was named as one of MTV’s Artists to Watch in 2012. He lived up to the high expectations by producing huge hits including “Calling” with Sebastian Ingrosso and “Years,” featuring Matthew Koma.

Week 3

Friday, May 10th —Baauer gets the weekend started with his unique fusion of southern hip-hop and UK bass sounds. The 22-year-old DJ and producer has gone viral in the music world with his single “Harlem Shake” igniting a YouTube phenomenon. Baauer will hype up the crowd at LIGHT along with Matt Zo and Andy Caldwell.

Saturday, May 11th— Zedd returns to LIGHT to fire up the dance floor with Clockwork and Andy Caldwell.

Week 4

Friday, May 17th — Stafford Brothers bring the “Down Under” dance music to Las Vegas with their first performance at LIGHT. Brothers Matt and Chris Stafford are the leaders in the growing Aussie influence of the EDM scene. From their small beginnings at a bar in Australia to their anticipated residency at LIGHT, Stafford Brothers have toured the globe and become fixtures in the music world. Otto Knows will join the duo to kick-off the weekend with a night to remember.

Saturday, May 18th— Nicky Romero is back with Sebastien Drums to end LIGHT’s unforgettable first month with a bang.
