Laphroaig is pleased to announce the release of its annual Cairdeas expression — Cairdeas 2015. Cairdeas 2015 is a limited edition malt that celebrates friendship (“Cairdeas” in Gaelic). The 2015 bottling is produced from the finest malt of Laphroaig’s malting floor, distilled using only the smaller stills and fully matured in the famous No. 1 Laphroaig warehouse, right beside the sea.
Cairdeas 2015 pays homage to Laphroaig’s bicentennial anniversary, which the brand is celebrating this year, and is Master Distiller John Campbell’s interpretation of how Laphroaig would have been produced at the distillery 200 years ago. The result is a unique expression to be savored by Friends of Laphroaig™, both old and new.

NOSE: Initially a sweet note of red apple blossom moving quickly into a rich cask char flavor.
BODY: Medium bodied.
TASTE: Earthy peat, then a fruity salty combination with a huge iodine and black pepper feeling that runs all the way through the initial phase.
The never-ending peaty tones move slightly into a licorice toffee note that has amazing depth and balance.
